When we really meditate on the wonder of what we have in Christ, we find a true treasure for our souls. In this Advent season, where we anticipate the return of Christ, thinking back on his first coming, I invite you to read along as I try to merely scratch the surface of the the treasure we have in Christ Jesus our Savior.

How do we pray when we fear losing someone? How do we get past feelings of being stuck and unable to really hope or pray at all because we just don’t know what to say or what to ask for? I share two things I’ve been learning about how to do this as I’ve either lost or feared losing people I care about.

Many people wonder what God will be like when they meet him. Will I like him? Will I be afraid of him? But, what if you’ve already met him? What if he’s been hiding in plain sight and you’ve known him all along?

We tend to like binaries in our spiritual lives: black or white, all or nothing, yes or no. Those answers make us feel good — feel safe. But growing up in the Christian spiritual life calls us to live in the tension of the measured in-betweens. How do we find them? How do we fall off? Why is it so important to not settle for an easy answer? Read along as we try to find the balance.
